Function Bone Health utilizes the EchoLight EchoS device, which employs Radiofrequency Echographic Multi-Spectrometry (REMS) technology. The EchoS device is FDA 510(k) cleared (K222550) for the measurement of bone density (BMD) at the lumbar spine and proximal femur in adult populations. It is intended to be used by qualified healthcare professionals.
At Function Bone Health, the EchoS device is used as an educational screening tool. The results we provide are screening results, not medical diagnoses. Screening results are intended to be shared with your licensed healthcare provider, who can interpret them in the context of your complete medical history, clinical examination, and other diagnostic tools. Only a licensed healthcare provider can provide a medical diagnosis of osteoporosis or any other condition.
Reports generated by the EchoS device are produced by the manufacturer’s proprietary software. Function Bone Health does not modify, alter, or interpret these reports in a clinical capacity. We provide the manufacturer-generated reports to you as educational information to share with your healthcare provider.
Like all screening technologies, REMS has inherent limitations. Results may be affected by body composition, positioning, operator technique, and other factors. Screening results should be considered as one data point among many that may be relevant to understanding your bone health. Results may not be directly comparable to results obtained from DXA or other bone density measurement technologies.
Function Bone Health operates under the Screen My Bones brand and licensing framework. “Screen My Bones” is a trademarked program that provides the operational framework, training, and support for bone density screening services using REMS technology. The Screen My Bones license does not confer medical licensure, healthcare provider status, or clinical authority upon Function Bone Health or its staff. All services provided under the Screen My Bones brand remain educational screening services as described throughout this Disclaimer.
The supplements and products available through Function Bone Health have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
